Introductory well control course for well completion and intervention operations team members introducing the fundamentals of maintaining well control during well interventions operations. This IWCF WIPC level 2 introductory course has been designed to give well intervention operations personnel a more in-depth understanding of the principles and methods of pressure control related to various well servicing and completions operations. The course will be delivered through interactive lecturing supported by animations, group discussions and exercises.
The two compulsory modules are
Completions equipment
Completions operations
In addition, candidates must select at least one of the following three optional modules:
Wireline operations
Coiled tubing operations
Snubbing operations
Designed for those who may directly contribute to the creation, detection or control of a well influx, for example (but not limited to):
Well-site operations engineer
Well-site and office-based operations geologist
Roughneck
Derrick-man
Drilling contractor maintenance personnel
BOP equipment personnel
Mud engineer
Directional driller
Mud logger
Casing crew supervisor
Cementing operator
Candidates must pass each of the components with a minimum score of 70%.
Level 2 certificates are valid for 5 years.
